Ornamental Aluminum Fences
in Yorktown
& Across the Virginia Peninsula
Clean, low-maintenance, no-rust fencing for pools, waterfront view lines, and HOA-approved styles. Residential and commercial grade. Virginia Class A licensed, bonded & insured.
Ornamental aluminum is the fence you put up when you want a finished, upscale look without the upkeep. It never rusts, never needs painting, and holds up in Peninsula salt air far better than steel. We install it for pool barriers, waterfront lots that want a view through the fence, HOA neighborhoods with a required style, and commercial properties that need a clean, durable perimeter.
Crusberg Fence is a family-owned, Virginia Class A licensed contractor, and one of us is on every job. Aluminum is straightforward, honest work we are glad to do, and homeowners tell the story: we hold a 4.9-star average across 70 Google reviews.

Why Homeowners and Property Managers Choose Aluminum
Aluminum solves a specific set of problems. Here is what brings most of our aluminum calls.

The Virginia Peninsula is a hard place for metal. That is exactly where aluminum earns its keep.
Salt air corrodes steel. On the water, and even a few miles inland in Tidewater humidity, an iron or steel fence starts rust-streaking within a few seasons and keeps going. Aluminum does not rust at all, which is the single biggest reason we steer coastal customers toward it over steel. We have bid ornamental steel exactly once in this market, downtown Hampton, and it is simply not the right material near salt water.
The detail cheap installers skip is the hardware. The aluminum panels will outlast the house, but standard zinc-plated screws, hinges, and latches corrode in salt air and streak rust down the pickets. We use corrosion-resistant hardware so the whole fence, not just the aluminum, holds up here. On the Peninsula's rolling and waterfront lots, we also rack the panels to follow the grade so the fence tracks the ground cleanly instead of leaving gaps or steps.
One honest note: nothing outdoors lasts forever untouched. A powder-coated aluminum fence will very slowly fade over many years of coastal sun, the same as everything else exposed to UV. It just does it without rusting, warping, or needing paint along the way.

How Aluminum Fence Pricing Works
There is no honest flat price on an aluminum fence, because too many things move the number. What drives it:

Why Crusberg Fence for Aluminum?
Aluminum vs. Steel on the Coast, and the Detail Installers Miss
Here is the piece of expertise that matters most if you are choosing an ornamental fence anywhere near the water.
The metal itself is an easy call. Steel is stronger pound for pound, but it rusts, and on the Virginia Peninsula it rusts fast: salt in the air accelerates corrosion, and once a powder-coated steel fence gets a chip or a scratch, rust creeps under the coating and streaks down the pickets. Aluminum simply does not rust. That is why, in a market defined by the Chesapeake Bay and the rivers, we install aluminum and have bid ornamental steel exactly once. Unless you have a specific reason for steel and you are well inland, aluminum is the coastal answer.
The part most installers get wrong is everything that is not aluminum. A fence is only as corrosion-proof as its weakest fastener, and cheap hardware rusts in salt air even when the panels never will. The result is worse than it sounds: rust streaks bleeding down a fence that is technically rust-proof, so it looks like the whole thing is failing when the real problem is a handful of screws. We spec corrosion-resistant hardware from the start, and on the Peninsula's rolling lots we rack the panels to follow the grade so the fence does not stair-step or leave a gap a pet can slip under. Done right, an aluminum fence here is genuinely close to install-it-and-forget-it. Done cheaply, it rust-streaks at the hardware and gaps at the grade within a couple of years.
