Decking is carpentry, and carpentry is what we do. Alongside our fence work, we build custom wood decks, porch and deck railings, and steps for homeowners across the Virginia Peninsula. It is the same crew, the same screwed-and-braced construction, and the same eye for a clean, straight line that goes into our fences.

Deck stairs and porch steps, laid out and built to be safe, square, and comfortable to use.

You deal with someone from the crew, not a salesman and then a stranger. We talk through the design, keep you updated, and do what we said we would, which is the other half of why past customers come back for the deck after the fence.

Keith started in the trade more than 40 years ago; his twin sons, Clint and Cole, run it today, and one of them is on your job. We hold a Virginia Class A license (DPOR #2705194192) and carry full insurance.

How It Works

A deck project runs much like a fence: a free on-site look, an honest written estimate, and a build by the same family crew.

01 Free on-site look.

We measure the space, talk through what you want, and go over materials and layout.
02 Written estimate.

You get a fair, itemized price, with a typical deposit of around 20 percent and the balance on completion.
03 Build.

The same crew that quotes the deck builds it, screwed and braced, to a clean line.
04 Walk-through.

We walk the finished deck with you and make sure you are happy with it.

Every price comes after we see the space; there is no honest flat rate on a custom deck. We honor the written quote, add no surprise charges, and offer a 3 percent military discount.

01 Do you build decks, or just fences? +
Both. Fencing is our main work, but decking is carpentry, and we build custom wood decks, porch and deck railings, and steps with the same crew and the same construction.
02 Does my deck need a permit? +
It depends on the deck's size and height and on your locality's rules. Some smaller, lower decks do not require one, while larger or attached decks usually do. We will talk you through what your project needs so there are no surprises.
03 What kind of decks do you build? +
Custom wood decks, freestanding or attached, single or multi-level, plus porch and deck railings and steps. We build to fit the space and the way you use it.
04 What makes your decks different? +
